One of the things sorely eroding in this country is great customer service. Before some people jump on their soapbox, I’m well aware that some customers can be, well lets just say, “troublesome to deal with!” Just last week, I had a customer call in and complain that one of my technicians adamantly refused to do his job. He had installed a portable generator and she wanted to test the generator to see if it would automatically kick in when the power went out. The problem was, she didn’t have a standby generator or an Automatic Transfer Switch System. The setup she had, which was ordered by her ex-husband, was designed to be started manually… and the service to the house had to be manually disconnected before the power from the generator could be activated. That’s how he wanted. The ex-wife wouldn’t let go even after the technician, his manager, his supervisor and her ex, attempted to explain this system to her. The call had to get all the way up to me? And she still insisted that I fire the guy? Some people, you just can’t please. Ok, I’m off my soapbox and back to answering the question about the Customer Service and Support at Champion Generators. In a nutshell, its superb! They offer free technical support to all of customers for the life of the product. Plus, their product manuals and technical bulletins are available electronically and in print and are written and proofed by knowledgeable native speakers in English, Spanish and French. Their toll-free number rings in their own call center which is staffed with trained technicians and support professionals (available 8:30am – 5:00pm Pacific). Oh, and the average time it takes them to answer is 42 seconds. […]

At some point we started receiving a lot of inquiries about Champion Generators. To this day I have no idea what prompted the steady stream of questions. It may have been advertising. It may have been the fact that people were looking for inexpensive generators. Maybe it was luck, who knows? Nevertheless, we set out to check out the Champion Generator Line and here’s what we found. Their generators are manufactured in the Zhejiang province of China by Champion Power Equipment. They actually design and manufacture their own engines and generators at their factory. Currently, they specialize in gasoline driven engines generators, pressure washers and transfer pumps. My gut feeling tells me that due to their success in the United States, we’ll probably see them expand their line stateside. Go here to learn more about Champion Generators.
