What Type of Support Does The Generac
Generator Brand Provide?
That’s a great question! The Authorized Service Centers employ trained technicians certified
in supporting all aspects of the entire Generac generator line.
Amazingly, the most common problem experienced by a Generac Generator is that of stale fuel,
which is a user related issue. To promote engine and alternator longevity, Generac recommends that you start and
operate your generator at least once every seven days.
I’m an Electrical Contractor With Some Heavy
Duty Needs, Will Generac Work With My Engineering Team?
The Generac Generator product line features fully integrated standby power generation systems for commercial,
industrial and residential use. The Generac Generator Division specializes in working with electrical contractors
and engineering consultants to respond to bid-spec opportunities for units above 200 kW. Their Authorized Generac
Generator Service Dealer partners, with their support, specialize in smaller units for the commercial and
residential markets.
What Are Customers Saying About
Generac Generators?
Good Points: Automatic operation, natural gas. Back-up generators are a great idea.

General comments: In my opinion horrible customer service. Major engineering flaws and quality
control issues. After 4 months of run-around from customer service. No returned calls. No responsiblity. I give
up. Magnito worked loose and blew out ignition coils after 45 hours of use over two years (including weekly test
cycle). Warranty expired. Two little screws vibrated loose and destroyed the ignition coils. All I was
interested in was some adjustment on the repair parts needed. No consideration. $1000 repair bill. Back-up
generators are a great idea.
Review by bdupont: General comments: Highly recommend not buying
Generic products as the reliability is terrible and the factory support is terrible even though I live about 100
miles from the factory!
Review by jboucher26: General comments: Automatic standby generators
are a fantastic idea - Make sure you take into account the transfer box that starts and switches in the
generator when power fails, this can be expensive. - I bought and recommend propane, it keeps and smells better
than gas. - Buy one from someone other than Generac.
