Ozone Generator

For finding Info on the Ozone Generator

What is an Ozone Generator?

A product designed to emit large amounts of ozone. Sometimes these units are sold as "air purifiers."

However, some studies indicate that these products can exceed health standards and are considered by the EPA to be generally ineffective in controlling indoor air pollution.

With that being said, although many ozone generators are made for residential use, we recommend that you only purchase an ozone generator, not as a means of purifying the air, but as a means for removing odor or mold in areas that WON’T have human beings present.

This is in response to warnings issued by the EPA concerning health related issues that can be brought about with the use of an ozone generator around people. Make certain that when using an ozone generator, you strictly adhere to the directions from the manufacturer as well as guidelines established by the EPA and OSHA.

Ozone Generator WARNING:
The Ozone generators sold as air cleaners intentionally produce the gas ozone. Often manufacturers of ozone generators make statements that lead the public to believe their devices are always safe and effective in controlling indoor air pollution.

Some manufacturers imply and/or suggest that these devices have been approved by the federal government for use in occupied spaces.

To the contrary, NO agency of the U.S. Federal Government has approved these devices for use in occupied spaces.

Because of these claims, and because the ozone generator can cause health problems at high concentrations, several U.S. federal government agencies have worked in consultation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to clear the air, no pun intended.
